Forex News - Eurozone shows Trade Surplus in Feb.
News out of the European Union today showed that the 15 nation eurozone had a international trade surplus of 0.8 billion euros in February according to the European Statistical Office Eurostat. The trade surplus for February is a major turnaround from January's revised 11.0 billion euro trade deficit. February's surplus surpassed market forecasts which were expecting a trade deficit of 3.5 billion euros. Exports rose by 2.0 percent from January to February to 130.6 billion euros while imports fell by 0.4 percent to 129.9 in the same time frame.
